Ray Jaber
Ray Jaber, owner of The Mediterranean Grill, moved to Alberta 20 years ago from Lebanon. When he found a home in Taber, he initially noticed the welcoming community and knew it would be a wonderful place to raise a family.
Schools are nearby, commute times are short, and the people are always friendly. The area is so spacious and there’s beauty from the farmlands, and the mountains are not far. Being surrounded by great cities, Calgary, Medicine Hat, Waterton, and Lethbridge, a fun-filled road trip is always a good idea.
“Taber is small on the map but big at heart. The Town of Taber and Taber & District Chamber of Commerce work together in harmony to host a lot of exciting events,” says Jaber. “As a family, we’ll drive the country roads in our spare time or visit with our neighbours — we really value that part.”
Jaber says there are a lot of important great things about Taber. The town is strong on what they do. The officials, Taber offices, Police Department, Fire Department and others, work well together to bring a safe and welcoming environment. The schools are also great and willing to support where they can.
“The Town of Taber is in connection with the people of the community. They love supporting local businesses. The people in Taber are hard working and passionate. We’ve been in business for 13 years, and we’re very happy to be here everyday to serve meals with a home-cooked method.”
Jaber and his family love to support the hockey teams in town and often attend games at the hockey rink. Having the Taber Municipal Park, Old Man River, camping and picnic areas, and Confederation Park, are great ways for Jaber and his family to spend time together.
“Taber is very diversified, and it’s becoming more cultured. Everyone feels welcome, which is why I wanted to raise my family in Taber. We’ve had a great time getting to know people and farmers in the area.”
