Meghan Brennan moved to Taber eight years ago when she accepted the position of Communications and Project Coordinator with the Town of Taber. She was hired right out of University and is now excited to welcome anyone who wishes to move to Taber, because it truly is a great place to grow.
“Taber is the friendliest community I’ve ever been in. The people here care, and I love the energy. Everyone is excited to be active and involved in the community. It continues to grow and will someday be a city, which really excites me,” says Brennan.
Taber has all the amenities and services of a city, with the charm of a small town. She says Taber has every recreation facility you can dream of. There is a pool that’s open year-round, and an ice-skating rink for winter-focused folks. You can find all sports fields, and a new trout pond and campground recently opened.
“You can find everything at your doorstep. My personal favourite place to go is the brand new Taber Trout Pond. The paved trail is amazing. There’s 3-kilometres, so you can see all the prairie expanse that Taber is situated in. It’s beautiful for a morning or evening walk when I need to find peace or have a moment of quiet to take in the beauty around me,” she says.
Taber has all grades from kindergarten to grade 12. The town offers a number of dayhome and childcare services in the area. There is an abundance of recreation opportunities and a myriad of sporting activities for youth, from gymnastics to football.
There’s a number of local groups that welcome and provide programming for youth, and Brennan is very happy to have them available in the community. The Town of Taber and organizations in Taber also host a range of family-friendly events, like Taber Cornfest and the Backyard BBQ Competition.
“Every possibility that you want exists in Taber. It’s a friendly, safe, and welcoming community where you get to know your neighbours. If you’re looking for a place to put down your roots and put down your family’s roots, might I suggest Taber because it is a great place to grow,” says Brennan.
